COMMENTS ARE WORKING.

The Warriors of Kyoshi - Episode Four

"Simple, girls are better at fixing pants than guys and guy are better at hunting and fighting and stuff like that. It’s just the natural order of things. " - Sokka

  • Zuko’s Development: he has an uncontrollable fury over petty things…like not knowing where Aang is.
"You have no idea where you’re going, do you?” – Sokka
“Well, I know it’s near water.” – Aang
“I guess we’re getting close then.” – Sokka
  • Kataang’s Development:  Their development here is actually falling, to be honest. Katara views Aang more as a brother or a little kid who fights for unnecessary attention.
  • Sokka’s Development: Extremely sexist still. “Simple, girls are better at fixing pants than guys and guys are better at hunting and fighting and stuff like that. It’s just the natural order of things."
  • 5:30 Sukka's Development 1: Sokka and Suki meet. What a nice way to meet your future lover? I mean, capturing him in ropes and tying him against a wooden pole or whatever it is.
  • Second time Aang introduced himself as the Avatar to the ‘public’
  • 6:50 epic foam guy. Too funny.
  • “I’m not scared of any girl. Who do they think they are, anyway? Mm. This is tasty.” - Sokka
  • Kataang’s Development: Katara becomes a bit… jealous at Aang’s increase in attention. I love when she sticks her tongue out.
  • 12:30 Sukka’s Development: 2 Sokka submits to Suki for training. He becomes humble and that’s when their relationship begins to bloom. =) (All guys should learn how to this…)14:38 they start their goofy teasing to eachother. So cute!
  • Kataang’s Development: 15: 15 Katara shows up to make sure Aang’s okay. Katara rescues him from the Unagi by going in the water, Waterbending an attack against the Unagi and bringing Aang to dry land.
  • Sukka’s Development 3: Sokka comes to protect Suki.At 20:42 suki kisses Sokka on cheek. Cute!
  • Aang’s Development: Aang goes all brave and jumps onto the Unagi, using it to his advantage to burn out all the fire in Kyoshi village.

COMMENTS ARE WORKING THIS TIME

I see 'The Avatar Returns' above these typed words and I have a strong feeling that…we're on our second day of Episode-A-Day! In our discussion, we'll go over some of the character and relationship developments, some Random Sokka Moments, forgotten scenes and some of my favourite scenes & quotes from this episode.

We are on Chapter Two of our Episode-A-Day/Countdown event, which gives us 19 more days until The Last Airbender movie. Of course, this event is not only for the movie, but also to unite the A:TLA communities together again. I mean, we're all fans and we might as well do what fans do - and that's to unite! Please join us in watching an episode-a-day and/or participating in a discussion. If the comments don't work, the tagboard or chat is ready for use!

Alright, so you may either place the first DVD volume of Season 1 into your DVD player, or click play on the video player above (if not working, please state and we'll post another video player).

This time around, I'll make sure not to babble about it in a 3,000 words analysis. I'll keep it to the point and main stuff. My goal is to have less than 15 notes!

Let's see if I can do this! Air Slice!!!!!!!!

The Avatar Returns - Episode Two

"...There was a booby trap, and well...we- we boobied right into it." - Aang

  • GranGran looks pissed and Sokka looks paranoid - if that's anything new. "Aha! The Traitor confesses. Warriors away from the enemy." By warriors, he means these 4 confused kids who like they're about to cry...) "…the foreigner is banished from our village." Sokka's been watching and reading too many books or movies.

"Aang has brought us something we haven't had in a long time - fun." - Katara
"Fun! We can't fight firebenders with fun!" - Sokka
"You should try it sometime." - Aang
  • Kataang Development 8: She's willing to shout out that she'll abandon her family for a stranger. Already that entranced?
  • "You happy now? There goes my one chance at becoming a waterbender." - Katara In other words, there goes my one chance of not becoming like you. She's not a regular Watertribe woman, is she?
  • 4:48 Wow! This was the first time I felt weird attractions towards sokka. I actually thought he was barbarically hot. But then Zuko came in, and yada yada yada…Anyways, it just brings back good memories of the times I felt something for that silly ol' goof.

  • 4:55 We see Zuko getting ready, just as Sokka was. Only difference, is Sokka has to ready himself, whereas Zuko's got people doing that for him. I feel Sokka is more a warrior than Zuko for that exact reason.
  • Zutara Development 1: AHA! Yay, my time to get crazy about one of my dearest pairings… I'll keep it as appropriate as possible…even if there will be some innuendos in my statements. Okay, this is the first time Zuko and Katara actually meet. I had to pause at 7: 35, because if you look below...You'll see Zuko's smelly armpit odour going off and Katara's face contorting in disgust - even if not for that reason. It's still funny. They're so near to each other right now...it's giving me goose bumps.

  • Zuko's Poking Habit 1: Finally, Sokka gets to see how it feels to be poked. Only difference is, is that Zuko poked him thrice and he broke Sokka's poking device.
  • 8:23 Zuko gets owned by a shiny boomerang, which has the tendency to take all firebenders off guard...sparky sparky boom man for example.
  • Favourite Scene: Zuko gets owned again and right before his soldiers. I feel so sad for him, at the same time as me laughing at him. The helmet falls onto his rear and he is such a shame of a prince…

  • Kataang Development 9: [10:23-26] There is such a strong bond of loyalty between them. The connection is heartbreaking...
  • Zuko is such a jerk! @.@ "I suppose you wouldn't know of fathers...being raised by monks." It's so funny, because I guarantee that those exact monks cared far more for Aang than Ozai cares for Zuko.
  • Aang's Development 2: He's polite, even to the enemy. "Sorry." - Aang. His mouth shapes in the funniest way.
  • Kataang Development 11: Just had to say, that Aang is a servant to the voice of Katara who's currently screaming, "Aang!"
  • Wooterbending action!!!!!!!!!! Woo-hoo. And yes, that was some Waterbending Sokka. ^^
  • Sokka's Poking Habit #4: At last, Sokka's poking obsession has come in handy. Sokka even learned that it's better to poke thrice than twice. He pokes Zuko, and down Zuko goes.
  • In the end of this episode, Sokka learned that it is possible to fight firebenders and have fun. However, it's too bad for the firebenders; they didn't seem to have much fun at all.

Discussion Topics
  1. Memorable Quote (why so memorable, how it makes you feel about character etc.)
  2. Memorable Scene (must-have in movie)
  3. Mike and Bryan’s message (overall theme)
  4. Shipping/Relationship progression (kataang, zutara etc.)
  5. Character Analysis (let’s see how they changed from episode one)
  6. Forgotten Scene (not memorable, but should have been.)
  7. Random Sokka Moments (state jokes, actions, facial expressions etcetera)
  8. Other comments in discussion welcome
