Bolin is a light-hearted optimist who never seems to be in a bad mood. After the death of his and Mako’s parents, his older brother Mako tried to shield him from the harsh realities of the world and for this reason he is often naive and immature.

Alongside his brother, Bolin is a Pro-bending player in the Fire Ferrets. If there’s one thing that bothers Bolin, it is the fact that he feels second best to Mako in age, fighting ranks and even when it comes to getting girlfriends.

Nonetheless, the two brothers share an intense bond and always have each other’s back.
